It has placed a spotlight on the struggles of parents, which were already acute and much overlooked. This has helped open doors in engaging with founders building better, more scalable solutions.
My son is two and would likely have entered a daycare environment earlier for more social interaction, but thankfully is relatively oblivious to the change. I have been very lucky to be able to lean on family for childcare, given the shutdown of care centers and challenges with accessing nanny support through the crisis.
Was there ever a time when you felt there was an unspoken barrier or preconceived notion that interfered with your job or career? Please share.
I think the VC world can be nervous about considering startups in the ParentTech space. Most of the founders don't exactly fit the traditional mould of a scalable tech entrepreneur - most are female founders, many are solo founders, the majority live outside of the tech hubs, and almost all are juggling being a founder with raising a young family.
HOW EASY WAS IT TO PUT (AND MAINTAIN) A CHILDCARE/ELDERCARE ARRANGEMENT TOGETHER AND DID IT WORK FOR YOUR FAMILY?
Through COVID we ended up co-locating with the grandparents, for live-in help. I have tremendous empathy for families who did not have this option.

Building an organization which engages and serves the needs of multiple groups - founders, investors, experts, mentors, parents, and strategic partners.
Thinking about fitting your job/career with your professional, educational, or caregiver responsibilities, is there anything that used to be manageable that no longer is? Is there anything that used to be able to count on, that you no longer can?
Finding places to be fully productive. Needing to reconfigure our living space to accommodate family life as well as create quiet places for multiple adults to work.
