It's Working Project

"You blink and they are no longer babies."

What is one piece of advice you wish you could offer your former expectant self?

Not to rush ANYTHING!! When I was pregnant I couldn’t wait for the baby to be born and then I couldn’t wait for him to crawl, walk etc. It all goes by so fast. You blink and they are no longer babies.

What was your primary motivation for deciding to return (or not) to work? How early did you tell your employer?

Ha-well I am my employer so I was thrilled to hear the news!

I kept my pregnancy under wraps from my colleagues and clients for about 6 months. I didn’t want anyone to worry about me. I was lucky and had a very easy pregnancy.

How much leave did you take, and how comfortable were you taking it?

Technically 3 months but to be honest I never really stopped working. About a month after Zev was born I did have to take a significant step back so that I didn’t feel the pressure to be constantly checking email.  Those few months were blissful.

Who was your biggest source of support in returning to work? What was your biggest pregnancy indulgence?

My mom was a huge support! My husband too. We found the perfect nanny for our family and she taught us sooo much!

My pregnancy indulgence was pasta. I love carbs, so I would indulge in Italian every chance I got.
